British man was linked by a mob after arrest in Amazon village in remote Ecuadorian Amazon

According to local media and officials, a British citizen was killed by a mob in Ecuador after dragging from a police station in a remote Amazonian village.
A locally nominated man as 34 -year -old Michael Han was taken into custody on 20 April in the Rivaraside village of Place del Kuybeno near the Kuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. He was suspected of shooting his long -time friend and business partner, Rodrigo Shavez, who was in an alleged controversy related to his struggling tourism business.

A police report recognized the victim as only an “English national”, and a senior police officer told the Daily Mail: “We are still trying to establish the unique identity of the citizen that we believe that there is a British national. Officials said the situation quickly increased, in which seven officers were present at the station during the crowd attack. Officials allegedly feared possible damage to their lives and state property. The police chief said, “They were carrying guns and other weapons, including stones, sticks, spears and even petrol coaches, threatening to burn the police station down and damage the officers,” the police chief said.

According to sources close to the investigation, the motive behind shooting was vested in a bitter trade dispute. Chavez accused Han of incorrectly placing the fund from his tourism enterprise, excluding him from business amid financial struggles.
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said it is working immediately with Ecuador officials and forensic teams to verify the victim’s identity and collect more information. FCDO has not yet issued an official statement.
