Border tension can disrupt sub-continent cricket calendar

The ongoing border tension between India and Pakistan and now Bangladesh can disrupt the cricket calendar in the sub-continent. The Indian cricket team is scheduled to visit Bangladesh for a limited overs series, Three Odis and Three T20I in August, but may make recent events an unexpected event.
A source Tracking Development says, “This tour is part of the calendar, but nothing is yet final. India has a bright possibility that is not visiting Bangladesh for ODI and T20 due to the current situation.”

A retired Bangladesh Army official, who is very close to the current interim government, made a major dispute when he suggested the occupation of the northeastern states of India. In a statement on social media, Major General (retired) Alm Fazlur Rahman also called for a joint-monetary system with China.
“If India attacks Pakistan, Bangladesh should capture seven states of North-East India. In this regard, I think it is necessary to start a discussion on a joint-monsoon system with China,” he said in a Facebook post.
In the current scenario, the boycott of the tour by India cannot be dismissed, but no concrete decision has been taken in this regard.
Not only the tour of Bangladesh, even the 2025 version of the Asia Cup remains under the cloud due to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The Government of India is talking very strict and playing cricket with neighbors cannot be possible in the near future.
The Asia Cup, being played at a neutral site, is scheduled to take place just after the Bangladesh series in September. No place has been finalized yet, but those who find out about the developments feel that it can be postponed well as cricket between India and Pakistan is not ideal at this stage.

How do you think it is that the Asia Cup will be postponed?
Apropos everything, the entire basis of the Asia Cup is a valuable tournament, India’s Pakistan becomes flat without guarantee, which looks like an unexpected landscape, in the current situation.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka hosted the previous edition of the tournament (2023) under a hybrid model, where India was crowned the champion. All the teams played at least some games in Pakistan, except India who played all their games in Sri Lanka.
