US President Donald Trump has accused the Democratic Party of accepting illegal political donations during the Presidential campaign, but the irony is that his Republican Party has received itself donations from several sources, AP claimed.Last month, Trump asked the Department of Justice to investigate the Democrats’ main online funding platform Actblue. He warned that foreign actors and fraudsters can use fake accounts to send illegal donations. However, Trump did not mention that his own political committees also received dozens of possible unfair donations – including anonymous donors and foreign sources.Trump’s election campaign was flawed in several ways and received a huge amount of unanimous donations as reported by AP.

Trump received anonymous foreign donation:

The state law prevents politicians and political committees from accepting any foreign aid. It also holds strict boundaries on the donation amount.According to the campaign finance records, Jiajun “Jack” Zhang, a famous Chinese businessman, donated $ 5,000 to Donald Trump via Republican Funding Platform Wine. A person listed as “Alex, A” donated about $ 5,000 using a fake American address. In the last 5 years, Trump’s campaign received more than 1,600 contribution from donors, who live abroad and failed to list important personal details such as their names, addresses or countries. At least 90 donations came from listed people with labels such as “unnamed” or “not provided”. There were two trump donors who lived abroad, whose US citizenship was listed as “verified” in the President’s campaign finance reports.

Trump has often ignored the political election campaign financing rules:

Donald Trump has a history of not taking Finance laws seriously. He has often helped people who are in legal trouble to break those rules. For example, in January, his justice department left a case against former Congressman Jeff Fortenberry, who was accused of taking $ 30,000 from a Nigerian billionaire.Trump’s campaign has also accepted funds from suspicious sources. An example is Barry Zekelman, a billionaire from the Canadian steel industry. In 2018, he was fined about $ 1 million in 2022 for illegally donating $ 1.75 million to Trump-Sporting Super PAC. The donation helped Zekelmann the dinner meeting with Trump, where steel tariffs were discussed.

Democrats react with anger and anxiety:

Democrats are angry with Trump’s action and say that his focus on Actbody is politically motivated and reflects his hypocrisy, as his own money is suspicious.Ezra Reese, a lawyer of the Elijus Law Group, said, “This is clearly an attack on democratic money raising.”Democratic strategists also fear that if the act is closed or weakened by legal troubles, it may hurt their ability to raise money. Some estimate a possible loss of up to $ 10 million in short term.“A real fear act may not be alive,” said the former President who Biden’s 2020 campaign. “It can drain resources and interrupt mid -term elections,” he said.
