MLA Murji Patel alleged that Kamra had made derogatory remarks about Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and his show promoted others to commit crime and to increase the rift between political parties.
On 16 April, HC stopped the Mumbai Police from arresting him, reserving Kamra’s plea for interim orders.
The HC two-judge bench of Justice Sarang Kotwal and SM Modak pronounced the order and said that the detailed order would be uploaded soon.
Kamra, senior advocate Navroz Servai and advocate Ashwin Thul, argued that the studio in Khar by Khar police in Khar police in Khar was in Khar in February – there was no crime for their satire show and need to be in final settlement of their arguments for investigation.
Servai, citing the decisions of the Supreme Court, argued that even in a newborn stage of investigation, an FIR could be abolished in the interest of justice in a fit case. Servai argued that the FIR was on the face of “motivated and malafied” and Kamra has so far received the dangers of about 500 deaths through messages, emails and calls from unknown persons.
The prosecutor said that Kamra was not targeting the decision of any state, but a former Chief Minister and the current Deputy Chief Minister in his personal capacity by making fun of his look and his past.
Arts and sarcasm have a lot of values for a “meaningful human life”, saying that Kamra’s show reflects their “irreversible and satirical style”.
He insisted during the hearing and stated that Shiv Sena members had barbarized at the site of the show at a ruling party, and BMC had partially demolished the studio, as the police stood up a day later.
