After losing a leg in a road accident 15 years ago, Sohit’s father continued to provide for the family, selling vegetables on a pushkart on Baisakhi. Sohit has inherited the same patience and flexibility.
Rinku quickly saw Sohit’s capacity and introduced him to coach Ricple Singh at the Archery Academy. Although the academy usually accepts students between the age of 12–16 years, Rickchapal was so killed so much with the raw talent of Sohit that he created an exception.
“I felt that if he was no longer given a chance, his talent would be ruined. That’s why I gave him entry – and he proved himself,” Ricple said. He said, “In the 40 meter incident, 710 out of 720 scoring have never been achieved in this age group,” he said
