Bangladesh court issued a fresh arrest warrant against PM Sheikh Hasina and daughter in land corruption case

A court in Bangladesh on Thursday issued a new arrest warrant against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was removed by his daughter. Seema Vajed Putul And in a corruption case 17 others, accusing a residential plot of fraud acquisition. Zakir Hussain Galib, Senior Special Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan, accepted the charge sheet from the Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC).
“Metropolitan’s Senior Special Judge Mohammad Zakir Hussain Gailib issued a warrant accepting the ACC charge sheet in the case,” ACC prosecutor Mir Ahe Ahe Ahe Ahe Ahe Ahe Ahem asked Salam to the press, as is quoted by the news agency PTI.
The judge requested the ACC to submit its investigation report on 4 May, which was about the case of land leased by Rajuk in Purbachal area near Dhaka. The ACC on January 12, 2025, along with other government officials, launched the case against the former premiere.
The charge sheet stated that Hasina’s daughter Putul improperly affected her mother Hasina to receive a conspiracy, bypassing Rajuk and violating the procedures installed for plot allocation in the Purbachal New City Housing Project.
The ACC said that Putul Dhaka moved forward despite already having assets under the jurisdiction of Rajuk. She currently ranks as South East Asian Regional Director in New Delhi since November 1, 2023.
Bangladesh’s International Crime Tribunal first issued two arrest warrants against Hasina and others for human crimes and forced them to disappear.
Recently, Warrant Hasina, Sheikh Rehana and the “Mujib Shatabdi” ceremony follows the ACC’s announcement of an ACC of an inquiry of alleged misuse of Rs 4,000 crore during the ceremony.
The year -long festival in 2020 marked the centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman during the rule of Awami League. Rehana did not play any official role, while former Principal Secretary, Kamal Abdul Nasar Chaudhary served as a festival coordinator.
ACC President Mohammad Abdul Momeman said that corrupt people receive equal treatment regardless of their condition. Hasina faces additional allegations, including mass murders and forced disappearance in cases before Bangladesh’s International Crime Tribunal.
Originally established the Tribunal, established to prosecute Pakistani associates of 1971 Liberation War in Bangladesh, has tried and executed several individuals after the first full appeal procedures.
