Aziz Mirza remembered Shah Rukh Khan’s place with Rani Mukherjee in the Chelte, recalling: ‘Things were not the way we had expected’

Director Aziz Mirza recently reflected a major casting change in his 2003 romantic drama CheltchaWho originally started making films with Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. However, Aishwarya was later replaced by Rani Mukherjee, and in a new interview, the filmmaker addressed speculation for a long time around the verdict.
Talking to radio intoxication, Mirza was asked what went wrong with Aishwarya. Choosing his words carefully, he replied, “I don’t know. Anyway, these are the areas that we unfortunately …” retreat without revealing a lot. He confirmed that he had shot only the song “Prem Nagaria” with him, saying that it was a one -day shoot. “Unfortunately, the way we expected, and then the queen came on the board,” he shared.
While the accurate cause is unstable by the director, it is widely believed that replacement was linked to Aishwarya’s erstwhile relations with Salman Khan, who allegedly disrupted shooting, inspiring filmmakers to rethink her casting.
The Count Count also marked for the first time that Mirza did not put Juhi Chawla with Shah Rukh Khan, a staple pairing in his last three films. Why did he make that change, he said that it is only a desire to show the audience something new. “I thought people wanted to see someone different,” he explained. He said that Juhi must have done a great job, but was in a hurry to praise the queen, saying that she was “good as always.”
A clip of Shah Rukh Khan had resumed again, in which the superstar regretted the exit of Aishwarya. He admitted that the election was not individual, but was made collectively by the producers of a professional film. “As a manufacturer, my hands were bound … The entire company’s reputation was at stake,” he said. He further described Aishwarya as a “very professional” and admitted that “even professional we feel very bad … there are no two ways about it.”
