Cricket in Olympics: ICC LA28 welcomes the announcement

International cricketer council ,ICC) As a site for cricket at the Olympic Games, the announcement of the Fairground in Pomona, Southern California Los Angeles 2028 (La28).
The cricket competition in LA28 will feature every six teams in men and women’s competitions, which will mark the return of sports in sports after 128 years.
ICC President, Mr. J Shah, has welcomed the confirmation of the site and expressed his curiosity to work in partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to ensure the success of cricket in the Games.
ICC President, J Shah said: “We welcome the announcement of the venue for cricket in Los Angeles 2028, as it is an important step towards preparing the return of our game in the Olympics.
“Although cricket is a very popular sport, its inclusion in the Olympics, fast, exciting T20 formatThe new audience should appeal and provide a great opportunity to expand traditional boundaries.
“On behalf of ICC, I want to express my gratitude to the LA28 and the International Olympic Committee for their support, and I look forward to cooperating with them and ICC members and are ensuring the great success of cricket in the preparation of LA28 and in LA28.”
Cricket, which made its only previous Olympic appearance at the Paris Games in 1900, was included in the Los Angeles Olympics after an IOC meeting in Mumbai in October 2023.
Cricket LA28 includes five other new sports – baseball/softball, flag football, lacros (sixes), and squash.
The T20 format recognized by the ICC as a vehicle for the development of the game has also painted other multi-game events in recent years.
In the Asian Games in 2010, 2014 and 2023, both men and women T20 competitions were shown, while Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games staged a women’s competition.
