In a clear new interview, Apara opened about the heavy period, the call that changed his life, and why Devdas was more than just a film – it was a dream.In a conversation with Friday Talkies, Apara remembered the intensive phase in 2000, when she shot a non-stop mother-in-law Kabbi daughter-in-law for 17 days and shot for both Devdas.She shared that the opportunity came unexpectedly when she was making Alu Tikki during Diwali. For her surprise, it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the phone, giving her a small but important role in Devdas. He was later told that Bhansali’s sister Leela Behan received a recommendation.Initially the Mujra sequence was determined to shoot for 12 days for Kahe Ched Ched Mohe, ‘the shoot was extended to 17 days. Apera tried to manage his time with Kyanki, but either could not accommodate the schedule – both of them kept in power without breaks through both projects, even late night for daily soap.He also shared that he was fully tired by working for 17 days straight to 17 days, both mentally and physically. She reached a point where she felt that there was nothing beyond that stage, but there is no option to go to the hospital. Despite being severely deprived of sleep-often set with the eyes of the bloodshot to reach Devdas-he described the experience as unforgettable, saying that the grandeur of the Devdas set felt nothing less than heavenly.Apara pushed through exhaustion because Devdas was his dream project – one he revealed quietly. Despite the physical toll, being a part of the film was a deep personal milestone that made it worth it every night.In the same interview, the actress revealed that when she first read about making Sanjay Leela Bhansali a Devdas, she wanted to be a part of it secretly. Although he never gave it a loud voice, he hoped that if he ever did a film, it would be as grand and timeless as Devdas.Apara Mehta, who is known for her role as Savita Virani in Saviti Irani-Abhinit Kyanki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi, appeared as Badi Apa in Devdas of Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the performance of Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai.
