Amnesty: Human Rights at Worldwide Risk |

According to the UK -based Human Rights Organization Amnesty InternationalWe are on a “significant twist” when it comes to universal human rights worldwide. Its report underlines religious, patriarchal and racist attacks on human rights conferences, universal human rights system, International humanitarian lawAnd international courts agreed by the states after the Nazis and the crimes of World War II.
“Unprecedented forces are hunting human rights ideals for all, seeking to destroy an international system in the blood and sorrow of the World War 2 and its holocaust,” the International General Secretary of the Amnesty, International (AI), has written in rehearsal for the annual report of his organization. Amnesty International assesses the condition of human rights in a total of 150 countries every year.
Violence against citizens and minorities is increasing
Amnesty’s annual report identifies three main ongoing trends. First, citizens are coming under increasing pressure in war areas such as Sudan, Gaza, Ukraine and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Julia Ducro, general secretary of the German section of Amnesty, said, “The rules that are applied in the struggles, the international community set the red lines setting themselves, they are more and more disregarding.”
Secondly, especially in many countries, minority was at risk, especially people of LGBTQ+ communities, refugees and disgruntled people.
And, third, the state human rights failed rapidly in taking action to counter this crisis. This was especially the truth of the states that were once committed to universal human rights like America.
“The US government is acting as an accelerator in this human rights crisis, putting billions of people worldwide at risk,” Duchro said.
He said that ban against the return of international criminal court and America United nations human rights council There were tentmounts to take an ax for international law.
Israel and Gaza once again in focus
The human rights NGO also once again attracts special attention to war in Gaza, killing thousands of people. The current conflict broke after the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, classified by Germany, America and the European Union as a terrorist organization, an attack on 7 October 2023 in Israel. Israel took vengeance by starting a military operation in Gaza.
Amnesty International accused Israel of “massacre” against Palestinians.
The report said, “The states saw that it is powerless, because Israel killed thousands of people on thousands of Palestinians, erased the entire multi -level families, destroyed houses, livelihoods, hospitals and schools.”
The organization made a similar argument in the approximately 300-hit report in December 2024.
The allegation of massacre is controversial. The Israeli government has rejected it, and some international law experts have also called the use of the word in question. German-British expert Stephen Talman has described the legal argument of Amnesty’s report as defective. On the other hand, other organizations such as Human Rights Watch Israel has also been accused of “acts of massacre”, such as deliberately hungry to the civilian population in Gaza.
Sudan: A Human Disaster
The crisis in Sudan is also included in this year’s annual report. According to the United Nations, the country has been entangled in a civil war in the Civil War, the disastrous consequences for the civilian population and a civil war for tens of thousands of victims. Amnesty International says that there have been displaced in Sudan elsewhere in the world
The former US government accused the rebel group associated with “massacre”. Amnesty International calls both sides instead of violence and a weapon for Ambargo. However, German’s AI General Secretary Ducro did not dismiss the possibility that the NGO could also conclude that the massacre has been carried out in Sudan.
Criticism of Germany
Germany also comes for criticism for a series of changes related to the rights of immigrants and refugees. Amnesty International has listed the expansion of the powers of the authorities of the entry and custody in the campus, and the risk of illegal custody for refuge seekers in Germany. The NGO also indicates the restoration of the Syrian applications for the Syrian people, especially to the Syrian people, and the Schengen border restoration without the restoration of exile to Afghanistan and Syria.
AI also condemns excessive use of force in policing protests by supporters of climate activists and Palestinian rights.
Call to reflect human rights
Amnesty is calling for human rights regulations and returning to honor human rights and international laws for governments. According to Ducro, this will include respect and compliance with the international arrest warrant such as one against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She also believes that the improvement of the United Nations Security Council is necessary.
But Amnesty German General Secretary also mentioned some positive developments.
“We look at positive developments repeatedly, with negative people,” Duchro said. “Human rights have a powerful effect on those who take to the streets. That is why we governments are calling for human rights to put human rights in the hearts of their policies. But of course, it also requires commitment to everyone; it depends on all of us.”
