Speaking on Pakistani TV, Afridi questioned how such an attack can happen despite India’s huge military presence in Kashmir, saying, “You have 800,000 soldiers and still happen? It means that you are failing.”
Afridi also criticized the coverage of Indian media, called it over-the-top and dramatic: “Within an hour, their media turns into Bollywood. It is laughing.”
These comments did not sit well with Dhawan, who fiercely hit the X (East Twitter): “We also beat you in Kargil. How little will you fall? Instead of making baseless comments, try to work on our country’s progress. We are proud of our Indian Army. Jai Hind!”
Afridi’s “#Fantastictea” comment may seem casual, but it carries weight.
It refers to the famous 2019 moment when captured Indian Air Force Pilot Abhinandan Varathman While in Pakistani custody, peace of tea and said, “Tea is fantastic.”
That line became a symbol of Indian patience and works under pressure.
Now, by bringing it up, Afridi has ruled over the old tension and has crossed the sensitive field, as many phrases in India are more than just a joke as a joke.
