New Delhi: Air India on Saturday announced that it would provide interim payments of Rs 25 lakh to the families of passengers who lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash. “As part of our continuous efforts, Air India will provide an interim payment of every 25 lakh rupees or about 21,000 GBP for each for each, so that it can help meet immediate financial needs.“Air India stands in solidarity with the families of passengers, who recently lost their lives in the accident. The statement said that our teams are making every effort on the ground to expand care and support during this incredibly difficult time.An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed 230 passengers and 12 crew members on Thursday afternoon in a medical college campus soon after flying from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The airline has confirmed that 241 people have been killed on board flight AI171, except a passenger who survived.
