Actor Shine Tom Chacko arrested by Kerala Police in Drug Case | Kochi News

Kochi: Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko was arrested by the Kerala Police on Saturday for the use of alleged drugs. According to officials, they have been booked under Section 27 (consumption of drugs or psychotropic substances) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) under the intoxicating drugs and psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act.
He said that with further legal proceedings, a medical examination will be conducted soon.
The Ernakulam North Police formally registered an actor’s arrest under the NDPS Act, in which sources confirmed that bail allegations were implemented. After issuing a summons by the Kochi City Police, a chacko appeared in front of the investigation team on Saturday morning, directing him to report to the Northern Police Station. He reached the station with his lawyers at around 10 am.
The actor was questioned after allegedly escaped from a hotel during a raid by the District Anti-Narkotic Special Action Task Force (DANSAF) earlier this week.
On Wednesday night, realizing that the police had arrived, Chacko allegedly jumped from the window of the third floor of his hotel room to the roof of the second floor. From there, he allegedly jumped into the swimming pool and ran through the ladder.
During interrogation, Chacko is said to have claimed that he did not realize that it was a police officer and thought he was trying to attack with the miscreants, indicating his escape.
As part of the investigation, the police have stated that it has collected its call data records and texting history. He was questioned by a team led by Ernakulam Central Assistant Commissioner C Jayakumar and Drug Assistant Commissioner of Drug Abdul Salam.
No drugs were recovered from the hotel, and therefore no separate case was registered on the property on the property.
In a separate development, actress Vinci Elosius had filed a complaint with the first film Chamber, alleging “unfair behavior” by Chacko under the influence of drugs. He also reported the alleged misconduct to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), although he has not filed a police complaint. The incident allegedly took place on the set of Sothravakyam, the film allegedly released.
