29-year-old Akash Prakash Makwan, an Indian citizen, blamed for a marriage fraud, including identity theft-as part of a plan to avoid immigration laws. The US Department of Justice said that Makvan arrived in the US on a non -immigrant visa to work in the hotel hospitality and Pak services. This visa is valid for one year and so he hatched a conspiracy with others to marry an American citizen to live in America. Makwana arrived in the US in 2019 and continued to live despite his visa in 2020. In 2021, he married an American citizen for $ 10,000 so that he could apply for a green card. But in doing so, he denied a residential lease agreement to reveal that he and American citizens whom they had married and also added the name of American citizen to their bank accounts and utility bills. Makvan admitted that he stole identity when he included the name and signature of the manager of the residential property on a false lease agreement. When the marriage plan failed, Makwala filed a form I-360 with USCIS, claiming that he faced domestic violence and emotional misconduct by his American citizen partner. He has now admitted that he has filed a petition to continue to live in the US while his claim is being considered.The 28 -year -old American citizen Kail An Huff also convicted the marriage fraud. Haf’s brother -in -law Joseph was part of the Sanchez conspiracy and he also convicted it. “The case reflects another unacceptable effort to reduce our country’s immigration laws, and the commitment of the Attorney Office of the United States for the southern district of Western Virginia is to implement public safety, national security and law rule in our country to implement those laws,” said the United States of America.
