Gujarat’s Titans captain Shubman Gill was fined Rs 12 lakh against Delhi’s capitals at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday to maintain a slow rate-by-rate during his IPL 2025 match, marking the crime of the team’s first over-rate crime.
A fine was imposed under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, which relates to minimum over-perpetual offenses. Gill, who went out for seven runs in the match, joins other captains who have faced a similar fine this season.
DC’s Exer Patel, MI’s Hardik Pandya, RR’s Ryan Parag and Sanju Samson, and Rishabh Pant of LSG have all been fined for over-per-rate crimes in IPL 2025.
Despite the penalty, Gujarat’s Titans won the match, successfully chasing 204 runs with four balls to challenge the Ahmedabad summer situation.
