Allegedly, an animal, possibly caught fire due to a rabbit engine. The incident occurred soon after flying on Sunday.
According to the news agency AP, an air traffic controller informed the flight crew on the radio, “It seems that every time in a short time, the small burst of the flame leads to the right engine.”
A crew member replied, “We think we have lost our right motor.”
It is being told that it was a rabbit that was apparently sucked into the engine, the pilot replied, “Rabbit through number 2, he will do so.”
The United Flight 2325 was being operated by Boeing 737-800, carrying 153 passengers and six crew members, Denver International Airport said in a statement, saying that there was no report of injuries.
The federal aviation administration is investigating the cause of the fire.
According to an FAA report, it is not uncommon to collide with animals, especially birds, airplanes, with about 20,000 strikes in 2023. In the most extreme cases over the years, a confrontation with wildlife killed 76 people and destroyed 126 aircraft between 1988 and 2023 in the United States.
