Trump messenger says that Putin opened with Ukraine for ‘permanent peace’ deal

Washington: Special envoy of US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Russian leader Vladimir Putin was open to the “Permanent Peace” deal with Ukraine after demanding ending the war over three years.
Trump is pressurizing Moscow and Kiev to agree to a ceasefire, but despite repeated interactions between Russian and American authorities, they have failed to extract any major concessions from the Kremlin.
On Friday, Trump’s special messenger Steve Witchoff Putin held a third meeting in his third meeting in St. Petersburg after returning to the Republican leader White House in January.
Vitchoff said during a Fox News interview on Monday that he sees a peace deal “emerging”, and two leading Putin Advisor Yuri Ushkov and Kiril Dimitriv were in the “hypnotic meeting”.
“Putin’s request is here to achieve a permanent peace. So beyond the ceasefire, we got the answer,” Witcoff said, accepting that “it took us some time to visit this place.”
“I think we can be on the verge of something that will be very big, very important for the world.”
He said that trade deal between Russia and United States Were also part of the talks.
“I believe that there is a possibility of reopening Russian-collapsed state relations through some very compelling business opportunities, which I think also gives real stability to the region,” he said.
Despite a hurry of diplomacy, there has been little progress on Trump’s main objective of achieving a Ukraine ceasefire.
Putin rejected a joint US-Ukrainian proposal for a full and unconditional stagnation in the struggle last month, while Kremlin has made a trussal in the Black Sea, lifting some restrictions in the West.
