New Delhi: Super Kings of Chennai lost their five -match streak in 2025 with a five -wicket win over Lucknow Super Veterans at Ekna Stadium on Monday. Despite the morale -boosting results, CSK lives at the bottom of the points table with just four points from seven matches.
To bowl first, CSK limited LSG to 166 to 76, thanks to his bowlers disciplined efforts. Rishabh Pant scored 63 runs in 49 balls for Lucknow and led the fight with four fours and four sixes, while Mitchell Marsh scored 30 runs in 25 balls at the top.

In response, Rachin was staggering for 5 on CSK 111 after a solid start from Ravindra (22 to 37). But Shivam Dubey placed his nerve off a patient with 43* off 37 balls. He found an ideal colleague in MS Dhoni, who returned the clock with a blistering 26*, scoring 26* runs in 11 delivery, sealed with three balls. Both added a 57 -run partnership winning a match in 4.3 overs.
Youngster Sheikh Rashid also started with 27 runs by scoring 27 runs off 19 balls, giving CSK some middle-order stability.
This victory, while CSK is important for confidence, is very low to change its position in the leg of the table. Lucknow Super Giants, despite the disadvantage, are fourth with 8 points from seven matches and are still in the playoff mix.
