US judge denied new tests for the pair in case of human trafficking related to the death of four Indians.

A Federal court justiceOn Tuesday, two persons found to be convicted on allegations related to human trafficking denied the application for new tests. The case included the tragic deaths of four Indians, who died of extreme cold while trying to cross from Canada to Minnesota during a serious storm in 2022.

The judge determined that adequate evidence was available for the jury’s convicted decision in all cases against both Shand and Patel. He said that during late disclosure of previous disciplinary action of a border patrol agent, it affected the overall case as a minimum. He also maintained his decision for a joint testing.
The prosecution presented evidence that Patel, an Indian citizen, known as “Dirty Harry”, and an American resident of Florida participated in an advanced illegal operation to convenience Indian entries in the US. The prosecution had earlier claimed that the Shand remained in its vehicle, which was feared to have 11 migrants, including Patel family members, at a separate place, while the temperature fell into 38 degrees Celsius.
The deceased victims of Dingcha village in Gujarat included 39 -year -old Jagdish Patel, his wife Vaishaliben (mid -30s), his daughter Vihngi (11), and son Dharmik (3). Family, both parents were school students, north of the Manitoba-Maintenota border on January 19, 2022. Seven other people of their group survived the journey. Patel, being a common Indian surname, had no connection with the defendant.
The most serious allegations carry the probable 20 -year prison conditions. However, the federal punishment follows the complex guidelines, and the prosecutors have not yet announced their recommended sentences.
