‘Fullly baseless’: Beijing hits back to the Zelanceci claim of Chinese soldiers fighting for Russia

Spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry Lin Jian on Wednesday dismissed the allegations of the Chinese citizens of Ukraine fighting with the Russian forces, called the claims “completely baseless”.
“The Chinese government always asks Chinese citizens to stay away from the struggle areas, avoiding involvement in any form of armed struggle, and avoids participation in any party’s military operations,” Lynn said, Lynn said, Lynn quoted by news agency AP.
The Beijing official also confirmed China’s stance that he has “played a creative role in politically resolving Ukraine’s crisis”.
These comments came after Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelanski On Tuesday, it was announced that Kiev had detained two Chinese citizens in the eastern Donnetsk region.
He said two Chinese men were occupied by Ukrainian forces in active fighter areas and were found with identity documents, bank cards and personal data, which confirm who they were.
He also informed that Putin’s armies along with ‘quite high’ are fighting, Zelansky said in a video message posted on social media.
“We are currently verifying all facts- intelligence, Ukraine’s security service, and related units of armed forces are working on it.”
The Ukrainian chief said that the use of foreign nationals by Moscow, including China and North Korea, is a sign that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to prolong the war in any way.
Zelansky also targeted Putin, saying, “He is ready to involve anyone in this war – any country, any foreigner – but not to end it.”
While China has not provided arms or military personnel on both sides, it has maintained a strong relationship with Moscow. Russia Ukraine was attacked in February 2022. China has offered diplomatic support and economic trade – especially in energy and consumer goods – but insisted that it remains neutral.
Foreign partnership in war leads to development amid widespread concerns. The United States has earlier accused North Korea of sending thousands of soldiers to support Russian forces, especially in the Kursk region of Ukraine. Both Russia and Ukraine allow foreigners to recruit in their armed forces.
In Washington, the US State Department spokesman Tami Bruce described the reports of the Chinese fighters caught as “disturbed” and said the US was monitoring the situation.
“China is a major promoter of Russia in the war in Ukraine,” Bruce told reporters. “China provides Russia about 80 percent of the double -used items to maintain war.”
NATO has repeatedly labeled China as a “decisive promoter” of Moscow’s aggression, a claim that China has rejected.
Meanwhile, there is no indication of slowing down on the ground. Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia targeted several areas and launched 55 Shahd and Dicky drones overnight. In the city of Cremetsk, the city of Donetsk, a large -scale drone attack released an 11 -year -old girl, her mother and grandmother were injured, according to regional governor Vadim Philashin.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that its aerial rescue shot 158 Ukrainian drones in 11 Russian areas in the night. There were no casualties or damage, but many airports suspended operations, and drones reportedly reached the Orenburg region of Russia, about 1,200 km from the Ukrainian border.
As a spring approach, both sides are preparing for renewed offenses, while the war continues with a front line that spreads up to more than 1,000 kilometers.
