Bollywood Actor Sunny Deol has confirmed that he is a step in the role of Lord Hanuman Nitesh Tiwari’s much awaited film ‘Ramayana’. Star shared his views on religion, the challenges of the role and what fans can expect from the epic project.
In a chat with News18, Sunny said, “I am working as Hanuman in Ramayana; Yes, it’s true.” The actor, known for his powerful screen appearance and strong roles, is ready to play one of the most loved figures from Indian mythology.
“Who is the Lord Mein Ni Manta?”
Asked if he is a religious person, Dole did not hesitate to express his confidence. “Kaun bhagwan mein nahi manta? Hum hahgwan ke vajh se hai.” Who does not believe in God? We are here because of that.

Play a powerful role

Talking about the difficulty of portraying Hanuman, he said, “For actors, we love challenging things because it is fun. We have to give a nail to the character and listen to our director. I will immerse myself in my character so that people believe it. I have not started shooting yet, but it will be one of the most mega films.”

A two-part is in the epic way
The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and supported by producer Namit Malhotra, will be released in two parts. Part one is expected to hit a large screen in Diwali 2026, while Part Two is determined to 2027. The artists of ‘Ramayana’ have written like Indian cinema. Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Lord Ram, as Sita with Sai Pallavi. Kannada superstar Yash has signed to play the role of Ravana, the powerful villain of the story. Other lead roles include Sheeba Chaddha as Lara Dutta Kaikeyi and Manthara. And, of course, Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
