A Mumbai court has issued a bail -worthy warrant against actress Malaika Arora in 2012, including Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan.
Failure to appear before the court as a witness
According to PTI, Malaika was issued a warrant after failing to appear before the court as a witness in the ongoing trial. The incident took place on February 22, 2012, when a group of Saif and friends were having a meal at a five -star hotel in Mumbai.
What was the matter?
It was reportedly began when Iqbal Mir Sharma, a South African businessman of Indian origin, objected to the actor’s table. According to the complaint, Saif responded aggressively, allegedly threatened Sharma before punching in the nose, resulting in fracture. Sharma also accused Saif and his associates of attacking his father -in -law Raman Patel.
At the time of the incident, Saif had his then girlfriend and now wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, her sister Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and other friends. Malaika was one of the people present on the table when the alleged controversy broke and is considered an important witness in the case.
Initially a bailable warrant issued against Malaika Arora
Chief Judicial Magistrate KS Zanwar is currently overseeing the testimony of witnesses. The court initially issued a bailable warrant against Malaika Arora after her absence on 15 February. As she failed to re -appear, the warrant was re -released on Monday. The next hearing is scheduled for 29 April.
Saif Ali Khan, along with his co-accused Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amarhi, were arrested shortly after the incident, but was released on bail. The three have been charged under Section 325 of the Indian Penal Code, which voluntarily hurts seriously.
