Former India spinner R Ashwin has made it clear that moving forward, he will not cover any Chennai Super Kings (CSK) matches on his YouTube channel in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
What happened?
In a CSK match, Prasanna Agoram, analyst from East South Africa and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), was seen questioning veterans like R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, questioning the decision to play Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmed. The video was later taken down, but it created controversy.
Following the loss of CSK’s 25 runs to Delhi capitals in Chepack, head coach Stephen Fleming called the matter “irrelevant”.
“I have no idea. I didn’t even know that he has a channel, so I do not know the stuff. It’s irrelevant.”

What did Ashwin say?
On Sunday, a administrator Note was posted on Ashwin’s YouTube channel, stating that he would cover CSK Games.
“Looking at the nature of discussions on this platform in the last week, we want to keep in mind how things can be explained and the CSK game for the rest of this season, both have been chosen to move away from covering and covering the reviews,” read the statement.
“We give importance to the diversity of approaches to come through our shows and are committed to ensure that the interactions are perfect for the integrity and purpose of the platform we established. The ideas expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin’s personal opinion.
“We appreciate all those who are deliberately engaged with the spirit of the show. Your response helps us to create and improve in the last few years. The small council will continue with all non-CSK Games as usual.
“We are eager to see the rest of this exciting IPL season with all of you.”
