New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a highlight video of his first day of his visit on Friday ThailandWhere he is participating in the sixth Bimstec summit in Bangkok. The video captures major moments including his arrival, formal reception, bilateral talks and cultural programs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Bangkok in Thailand on Thursday for a two -day visit to attend the sixth Bimstec summit. He was obtained at the airport by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister, Surya Junggrongit.
The video shared by PM Modi on his YouTube channel shows that after his arrival, Prime Minister Modi was given a formal guard of honor at the Government House in Bangkok. Thai Prime Minister, Patongtern Shinavatra welcomed him during the ceremony.

Later, in the video, Prime Minister Modi held bilateral talks with Thai Prime Minister Shinavatra. The two leaders discussed the major areas of cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, in a symbolic gesture, Prime Minister Shinavatra gave PM Modi a gift of the sacred scripture ‘Vishwa Tipitaka’, which PM Modi accepted with a folded hands.
“PM Shinavatra gifted me Tripitaka Just now. From ‘Buddha Bhoomi’ India, I accepted it with folded hands. PM Modi said that last year, the sacred remains of Lord Buddha were sent from India to Thailand, it is a matter of great pleasure that more than 4 million devotees got an opportunity to receive darshan.
Tipitaka is a collection of teachings of Lord Buddha and includes more than nine million syllables of Pali Canon. It was brought out by the Thai government in 2016 to mark the reign of 70 years of Raja Bhumibol Aduladej (Ram IX) and Rani Sirrodhi. It has since presented more than 30 countries from Thailand as “gift of peace and knowledge for all” from Thailand.
On the first day of his visit, Prime Minister Modi also participated in a demonstration RamakianThe Thai version of the Ramayana, which reflects historical and cultural relations between India and Thailand. Sharing his views on social media, he said, “A cultural connect is not like anyone else! Thai Ramayana, saw a panoramic performance of Ramakian. It was a really rich experience that beautifully displayed shared cultural and civilized relations between India and Thailand. Ramayana is actually to add hearts and traditions in many parts of Asia.”
