New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders‘(KKR) All-rounder Venkatesh Iyer once again proved Sunrisers HyderabadBreaking the third half century against him in the IPL (SRH) Nemesis. In the Eden Gardens, KKR helped KKR Post in its IPL 2025 clash for 60 runs off just 29 balls in just 29 balls in 200/6 in 200/6.
With this innings, Iyer joined an elite list of batsmen, who scored three or more consecutive fifty against SRH in IPL. Only Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson, four back-to-back against SRH with fifty, and FAF Do Plessis, who saw all three against them, has earlier achieved this feat.

Iyer’s remarkable run against SRH included 51 (28) in the last year’s finals in 2024 qualifiers 1 and 52 (26). His latest knocking was a blistering performance of stroke play which gave KKR a strong foundation.
While reflecting his innings during the mid-middle chat, Iyer admitted the challenging situations: “It was clear that the ball was holding a little, not the eden I have played in the last two years is a very competitive score. If we bowl well, we should win it.”

He credited his comrades to set up the stage: “I was watching the match from the screen, it was not easy to play shots. The ball was holding a little, but Ajinkya (Rahane) and Angkrishi (Raghuvanshi) were really good for us to establish an innings for us.”

Iyer also highlighted the impact of domestic cricket on the development of players: “It helps a lot that BCCI has made it mandatory for everyone to play domestic cricket. It gives us a good chance to play against quality bowlers, and you have seen so many bowlers. It is very challenging to play against them.”
A total of 200/6 of KKR was built on Iyer’s explosive knock, along with the contribution of Ajinkya Rahane (38), Angkarish Raghuvanshi (50), and Rinku Singh (32).
