Bangladesh: Vandalism at Tagore’s house is a ‘personal dispute’

The interim government in Dhaka has said that brutality in Rabindranath Tagore’s ancestral house in Sirjganj, Bangladesh was “not inspired by communal or political objectives” but stems from “personal dispute”. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs of Bangladesh claimed that on 8 June, a “misunderstanding arose, which increased into an oral and physical confrontation between ‘Rabindra Kacharbari’ and a visitors, a visitor of Shahnawaz.
