Heavy rains and strong winds were seen in areas such as Krishi Bhawan, Rafi Marg, and Udog Bhawan. In Safdarjung, two powerful windstorms (called thundarscols) were recorded. The first wind speed was 82 kmph, and the second reached 104 km per hour.The Meteorological Department asked people to avoid going out, until strong winds and flying debris made the roads dangerous. Heavy rains led to traffic problems and waterlogging in at least areas.Before the rain, Delhi was facing excessive temperature. On Thursday, some parts of the city recorded a temperature of above 43 degrees Celsius. Ayanagar was the hottest at 45.0 ° C. Other hot spots consisted of Palam (44.5 ° C), Ridge (43.6 ° C), Lodhi Road (43.4 ° C), and Safdarjung (43.3 ° C).Earlier in the week, IMD warned that Delhi could face heatwave conditions, possibly crossing 45 ° C.
