Jaipur: 19-year-old Srivan Kumar of Balotra, Rajasthan, who performs toilets in a factory while studying and whose parents wash dishes in village celebrations, have cleaned this year’s NEET, to support life in a two-room mud house.Shravan was working at his factory in Balotra when he found the word that he secured an impressive 4071 rank in the OBC category. His score is likely to earn one seat in three to four government medical colleges in Rajasthan.Shravan’s success is extraordinary, with just 55,688 MBBS seats in government colleges across the country. The only source of his family’s livelihood comes from washing utensils at weddings and ceremonies, as well as with topical MGNREGS work. Despite serious financial difficulty, Shravan focused on his education, completing both class 10 and 12 from a government school, secured 97% and 88% respectively.Saturday’s NEET results in Khatu village of Balotra made the mud house of Shravan in the headlines amidst sand dunes. Shravan received free NEET coaching from government doctors in Bermer, who advised the disadvantaged children.
