IAF’s fifth generation stealth fighter: US giant GE says that ‘very interested’ in making engine; To speed up jet engine delivery for Tejas Mark -1A

IAF’s fifth generation stealth fighter project: US ‘General Electric (GE) has said that it is’ very interested’ in making the engine for the fifth generation stealth fighter project of India. This would compete for the construction of engines for the fifth generation stealth fighter and advanced medium fighter jets of the Indian Air Force, said GE President and CEO Larry Kulp. Aerospace giants see India as a major strategic market for both civil and military aerospace operations, according to Culp.GE is also working to speed up the delivery of Jet engines for India’s Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL). GE says that it has accelerated the supply of jet engine for HAL for the Tejas Mark -1A fighter program, which has experienced significant delays. The company gave its first F-404 engine in March by a total order of 99 units, which was about two years after the plan.“This is our intention and we have told everyone,” Culp said. He said, “We are working to ramp our ability with suppliers. We are making good progress. I see on April and May of this year, where we were in the first quarter-we have seen an increase in double digits in the number of receipts,” he said in an interview.

Tejas Mark -1A delay
IAF chief, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh has expressed concern about delay in obtaining necessary military equipment. Boundaries of production capacity between manufacturers are creating failures in both defense programs and commercial aviation delivery.Culp indicated that despite applying various measures to reduce the effect of delay, additional time would be required to resolve supply chain issues. He said, “The progress we are achieving is enough, which is both GE and in the entire region.” “However, given the annual increase in demand estimates, the supply chain discussion will continue. This reflects our current position within an important development cycle. ,Also read ‘Make in India’ Defense Boost: Advanced version of Brahmos missile can be built in Uttar Pradesh; India and Russia started dialogueGE intends to establish a civic aircraft engine engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) feature in India when operating volumes reach the appropriate level.“This is not a question of possibility, but time,” he explained. “We have enough market volume to justify such investment commitments.”The GE currently operates over 1,400 engines in India, which strengthens narrow and broad body aircraft with future orders, with about 2,500 units.“These figures clearly demonstrate India’s importance as a major market for our operation,” Culp commented.
