A civil vessel carrying Swedish activist Gita Thunberg and other volunteers was intercepted by Israeli forces in international water on Monday.According to the Freedom Flotila alliance (FFC), who organized the mission, the ship Madeline was attacked at 3:02 am CET. The vessel was trying to provide humanitarian aid to Gaza in disregard of the Israeli naval blockade. The group claims that the ship was illegally riding, its unarmed crew was kidnapped, and its food, baby formula and medical supply cargo were seized.Human Rights Attorney and Freedom Flotila organizer Huaida Eraf said, “Israel has no legal right to detain international volunteers in Madeline.” “This seizure violates international law and defies the binding orders of ICJ required for Gaza. These volunteers are not subject to the jurisdiction of Israel and cannot be criminalized to help or challenge an illegal blockade – it should be arbitrary, illegal, and immediately ending.,Footage posted on Madelleen’s Telegram channel shows that the interception of interception has shown the workers working on a life jacket. The Israeli army allegedly rode in the vessel after warning to change the syllabus.Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katj confirmed the order to prevent the ship from reaching Gaza. He said, “I have instructed the IDF to act so that Hate Flotila does not reach the banks of Gaza and raised all the necessary measures till that end,” he said. “Antisemitic Gita and his friends who echo the promotion of Hamas, I clearly say: you will be better turned back – because you won’t reach Gaza.”The Israeli Foreign Ministry had earlier called Flotila a “media gimmick”, disguised as a human mission. “The maritime area on the coast of Gaza is closed for unauthorized ships under a legal naval blockade, in line with international law,” the ministry posted on X. “The boat claims that it is providing humanitarian aid. In fact, it is a media gimmick for publicity (including a single truck of assistance) – a self -racket.,This is not the first time FFC has faced military action. The group states that a previous vessel, Vivek, was bombed by an Israeli drone in European water, injuring four citizens and the ship was disabled and left on fire.In response, the coalition has asked for immediate release of all detained volunteers, delivery of direct assistance to Palestinians, and accountability, which they call a pattern of unsafe military aggression.
