New Delhi: A railway engineer is now credited with restoring the world’s oldest working steam locomotive to run Pari Rani between Delhi and Alwar. 67-year-old Ashwani Lohani has been appointed as PMML Director by the Cabinet’s PM Modi-Left Appointments Committee.In the order issued on Wednesday, Lohani, who has led the Railway Board, Air India and Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation in its long career, has been appointed on contract basis on contract basis on contract basis, or until further orders, or by further orders.Known as the “Turnaround Specialist”, Lohani’s name in the Limca Book of Records ‘figure’ 2007 edition to acquire four engineering degrees at the age of 21 in 1979. In Air India, he launched the longest nonstop of the airline between Delhi and San Francisco.
