New Delhi: The government has planned to deploy 581 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPS), Jamers, Drone and K9 units for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra, making it one of the most secure pilgrimage. The annual journey for Amarnath Shrine in Jammu and Kashmir will be held from 38 July to 9 August in a 38-day schedule this year. The annual pilgrimage comes when the India Pahalgam lives on a high warning after the terrorist attack and the Pakistan-supported terrorism by the armed forces has again been a decisive ‘Operation Sindoor’ by the Armed Forces. As part of a large-scale security overhaul, signal jammers will be first deployed to protect the journey movement, a measure that is aimed at neutralizing the dangers caused by remote-controlled improvated explosive devices (IEDs). News agency ANI reported that during the passage of the convoy, all roads leading to travel routes and national highways will be blocked to ensure maximum security temporarily.Security forces will be deployed on both Pahalgam and Baltal routes, including layered arrangements:
- Road opening parties (ROPS) to secure and purify the key stretch before the movement.
- Quick action team (Qats) deployed for rapid response.
- Bomb settlement knock (BDS) to neutralize explosives.
- K9 units – High trained sniper dogs for explosive identification.
- Drone To provide real time aerial surveillance.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Nalin Prabhat on Monday directed security forces to reduce potential risks by deploying anti-repotation teams with pilgrimage routes. The Director General of Police (DGP) also asked them to use advanced technologies to increase the capabilities of monitoring and explore the danger.
