Erdogan, Sharif discussed promoting cooperation in DEF, Intel-sharing

Istanbut: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif in Istanbul on Sunday and said that the two countries would try to promote cooperation, especially in defense, energy and transport, Erdogan’s office said.Turkey has strong relations with Pakistan, both are large -scale Muslim countries and share historical links, and have expressed solidarity with India during recent clashes. Erdogan’s office said he said that it was in the interest of Turkey and Pakistan to increase education, intelligence sharing and technical support in the fight against terrorism. Turki Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Intelligence Agency head Ibrahim Kalin also attended the meeting.
