New Delhi: Chief Ministers of five states, including Mamta Banerjee, Pinarayi Vijayan and Siddaramaiah, did not attend the meeting of the government’s policy think results on Saturday. The other two CMs who left the meeting were Nitish Kumar of Bihar and N Rangasami of Puducherry were both NDA collaborators.Niti Aayog’s CEO BVR Subrahmanyam told reporters that 36 out of 31 states and UT attended the meeting. He said, “This is the highest participation of the Governing Council of Niti Aog. We had 31 participants, perhaps in the first meeting and once again. It shows that people came with a very positive mind,” he said.He said that the five states where the Chief Minister could not be present had already informed about the conflict due to commitments and other reasons. Some of the leading CMs were MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu, Revantha Reddy of Telangana, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh, Hemant Soren of Jharkhand and Bhagwant Maan of Punjab. The meeting’s scene showed Soren, Reddy and Stalin while talking to PM Modi.
