Hyderabad: The murder of CPI (Maoist) general secretary Basavaraju on Wednesday left a rebel rebel group without a leader in a gun battle on Wednesday. He first served as a party spokesperson and remains a major political strategist.The 60 -year -old Tirupati lives from the caste community in Madiga schedule of Telangana and sits on the Central Military Commission of the Maoist group. A senior Telangana police officer said that his rise shows internal dissatisfaction over the upper caste dominance under the leadership.The official said, “The pressure within the organization to ensure the diversity of the caste under the leadership was increasing. It is now to be seen whether the party sticks to that line or protested for more politically experienced figures like Venugopal,” the official said.Other names in the circulation include Qadri Satyanarayana Reddy, although he lacks impact, and Malla Raji Reddy is considered very old and arrested.Analysts said Basavaraju’s death could already weaken weak extremism. The next general secretary will inherit a condemnable cadre division between peace talks, urban operations, and calls for armed conflict.Former chief Ganpati remains underground but has disconnected. Leaders like K Ramchandra Reddy, Misir Besra and Pothula Kalpana are under heavy supervision.Ranking with top commanders under pressure and in chaos, the Maoist movement has to face a significant turn in the leadership and direction.
