Rajkummar Rao played the role of Satyendra, an honest clerk whose life turns upside down, when his bride, aarti, leaves her on the eve of her wedding after passing the Civil Services Examination. Years later, they again meet under stressful circumstances. Rao’s performance expresses changes in a difficult policeman from a romantic lover, oscillating between vulnerability and restraint. The film is unique for rare combination of romance and social comment, in which Rao has put the film together through his subtle performance.
