The United States issues a tight and strange warning against the visit to the South American country of Venezuela.

The US State Department has issued a strange travel warning to those who want to visit Venezuela – that they should prepare a wish and nominate proper insurance beneficiaries and/ or Power of Attorney.Venezuela is a South American country on the Border of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. There was already a warning, but the government recently released it again, raising the warning.The advisor comes and the US and Venezuela get caught under a diplomatic tension. The US Treasury Department canceled Chevron’s license to export Venezuela oil, inspiring Nicolas Maduro government to suspend exile flights on 8 March. An agreement to resume the repatriation flights carrying immigrants in the US illegally reached the same month later.Since March 2019, the US has not had a working embassy in Karakas, leaving Americans in Venezuela without consular support or withdrawal options. What does the new advisor say?

The new advisor replaces an old man released in 2024. The situation has deteriorated and now the new advisor says: “Do not travel in Venezuela due to the high risk of wrong detention, torture in custody, terrorism, kidnapping, local laws, crime, citizens unwanted, and poor health badly,”“If you decide to travel to Venezuela … then prepare a will and nominate the appropriate insurance beneficiaries and/or power of attorney.”The warning also advises against all forms of entry into Venezuela, including the limits of the land, and highlights additional security risks such as night travel and lack of medical care or drug availability.In May, traveling to many countries has been advised by the US government. The State Department updated its travel advisor to the United Kingdom on 8 May, citing the risks of terrorism and advised passengers to “increase caution”. Travel advice to many other countries is at a high risk level, and was updated to reflect changes in risk indicators, such as Myanmar, also known as Burma, which has “no warning” due to armed conflict between armed conflict between other reasons.
