CWI CEO Chris Dehring said, “We are all asking that the extraordinary Olympic heritage of our individual countries is considered in the conversation.” “Our nations proudly raised their individual flags as a perennial gold medalist as the Olympic Podium. Now, with the inclusion of cricket, we should make sure that our cricketers are not out of history. We are ready to cooperate. We are ready to compete. But above, we are asking for fairness.”CWI admitted that LA 2028 is unlikely to field an integrated West Indies team, despite their previous successes as T20 World Champions in 2012 and 2016, their women’s team also won the global title in 2016.In its letter to the ICC, CWI proposed two possible solutions for regional representation.
