Indore: Madhya Pradesh HCThe Indore bench on Thursday ordered a temporary stop at the announcement of NEET-UG 2025 examination results due to a dispute over power failure at a center.Bench of Justice Subodh Abhyankar Its interim order mentions that despite the court order on 13 May to seek instructions on the matter, no representative (National Testing Agency) or any representative for the Union of India was present.This migration may probably affect about 21 lakh NEET-UG candidates across the country, as HC has not limited its instructions to specific examination centers or areas. The next hearing is about four weeks.NTA officials have not yet issued any statement about the court order or allegations.MP HC is listening to a petition stating that PM Shri Kandria Vidyala No. 1 at the center at 2 pm -5 pm during the examination window, there was a power outage at 3.30 pm. Due to no backup power system, candidates were to continue their examination in the event of minimum lighting, the petition said, “Emergency light (candles) were arranged only around 4.30 pm to add emergency light (candles), with only 30 minutes left on the clock.” The petition demanded alternative remedial measures to either re -examined or ensure proper assessment for the affected candidates.HC said: “… The defendant (S) has failed to provide appropriate conditions to the petitioner, which were appearing in the NEET-UG examination, which was held on 04.05.2025, and stopped due to power failure in different parts of the city, it is instructed that by the next date, it will not be declared by the response.”
