Zelenskyy slam the Russian team as a ‘dummy’ delegation at the Turkish peace talks; Kremlin brings back the fire, calls it ‘clown’

A Ukrainian delegation and a delegation from Russia, led by President Volodimier Zelanski, arrived in Türkiye for peace talks on Thursday, as the war continues three years after the war began. Even the two countries are designed to sit on the table from each other, Russia on Thursday claimed that it had captured two villages in East Ukraine.Even before the conversation began, there was a war of words, Ukraine’s President Zelanceci criticized Russia’s Putin, who was not coming to Turkey and instead he called a “decorative” delegation. Zelancesi said, “We need to understand the level of the Russian delegation and what their mandate is, if they themselves are able to make a decision,” Zelansky said that he reached the airport, “from what we see, it looks like a dummy.”Russia was in a hurry to hit back, labeled Zelansky “clown” and a “loser”. Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said in a weekly briefing from Moscow, “Who uses the word ‘dummy’?According to Vladimir Medinski, a close aide of President Putin, Kremlin will lead the Russian delegation, including three other senior officials. In addition, Putin has appointed four junior level officials as a “expert” for peace talks in Istanbul.Zelansky publicly challenged Putin to meet a person in Türkiye to discuss the end of the war. Zelansky had said that he would travel to Türkiye and wait to show Putin. US President Donald Trump meanwhile said that he was not surprised that Putin chose not to participate in the talks. Trump had earlier called for a face-to-face meeting between the two leaders, but was surprised by Putin’s absence.“I did not think it was possible for Putin that I am not there,” Trump asked reporters during a business roundate in Doha, Qatar. Ukrainian officials say that Zelancesi is firm in the meeting with Putin only and he will only sit on the table with Putin. It is still not clear when and where the Ukrainian and Russian delegation can talk, but more clarity is expected after Zelancesi met Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan. Under the leadership of the talks, Ukraine and its European colleagues called Russia to accept the 30-day ceasefire unconditional ceasefire. Kremlin did not accept the proposal and instead suggested direct talks between the two countries. Russian officials described Thursday’s conversation as “restart” of dialogue held in Istanbul during the early stages of war in 2022, but fell immediately thereafter.
