Mexico sues Google on its Gulf

Mexico City: Mexico President Claudia Shinbam said on Friday that his government sued Google on the company’s decision to label the Gulf of Mexico as a “Gulf of America” - when going back on February, when President Donald Trump issued an executive order to change the name of Gulf.
The order inspired some local government and MPs in the US to embrace the use of names on official documents. It also inspired Google to apply changes on its maps. In the United States, users will look at the body of water with a new name, while people in Mexico will continue to look at the Gulf of Mexico, the company announced in a statement. The rest of the world will see both names.
Sheinbaum did not say when or where his administration brought the case against Google. His legal office said the suit was filed in a Mexican court in March.
