Air defense system active, borders seal: after ‘Operation Sindoor’ on high warnings on Rajasthan, Punjab, Gujarat. Delhi News

Meanwhile, the Punjab Police was placed on alert as a “second line of defense”, and the authorities confirmed the coordination with the Indian Army that was going on to prepare for any contingency. Arora also appealed to the residents to carefully follow the official instructions and avoid spreading nervousness especially through social media.

Rajasthan: School closed, airport closed

In neighboring Rajasthan, officials ordered precautionary measures along the state’s 1,037 km border with Pakistan. Airports at Kishangarh and Jodhpur were closed by 10 May, and the border security forces patrolled with air defense units being active. Coaching centers in all schools, Anganwadis, and districts like Bermer, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar were closed till further notices. Bermer Collector Tina Dabi and Jodhpur Collector Gaurav Aggarwal released emergency information late on Wednesday night, while Jaisalmer saw a rare four -hour blackout from midnight to 4 am to increase operating secrecy. The examinations for 8 May were postponed, and government employees were instructed to cancel the holiday and remain in their headquarters. State hospitals were directed to stock blood and emergency drugs, fuel stations were asked to maintain inventory, and withdrawal plans for weak villages were implemented. Officials also issued instructions to climb fake news and hoarding of essential commodities. District collectors were asked to identify and secure sensitive places in the border belt and coordinate closely with the central agencies and the army.

Gujarat harasses security: railway station on high alert

In Gujarat, where the border districts like Kach share closeness with Pakistan, the situation was equally tense. Civil flights from Bhuj and Rajkot Airports were suspended for three days, with both facilities, now serving military aircraft exclusively. The move followed a notem (notice to Airmen) issued in the early hours of Wednesday.Security forces have given special attention to Jamnagar and intensified patrolling and monitoring in coastal and border areas. Teams of Special Operating Group (SOG), Marine Police and Task Force Commando have been collected to conduct security checks with sensitive stretch, including Holer Beach, which is close to the Pakistan border. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport of Ahmedabad was thrown into chaos in the form of eight flights – four arrival and four departure – canceled. With airspace sanctions in place and military exercises, many other flights experienced delays. Ripple effects also increased to railway stations. At Ahmedabad Station, Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and armed quick response teams operated the joint security sweep. The baggage screening was intensified and all access points were kept under surveillance. Anti-lightage drills and flag marches were also held.
