Five school children killed 6 in Patiala accident

Patiala: Five school children were killed in six Head-on collision Pass on Patiala-Samna Road amidst an SUV and a sand-filled truck Nasupur Village Wednesday afternoon in Patiala district of Punjab. Seven others were injured in the accident. The truck driver, Bhupinder Singh, has been arrested.The SUV was carrying the students – at the age of seven to 12 – from his school to Samana in Soller Road in Patiala when it collided with the truck. Effect pushed the SUV by the road, and it crashed into a tree. The front part of the vehicle was placed beyond recognition and the rescue team had to use a JCB to regain the bodies of the dead children.The victims were identified as Bhavan Sachdeva (8) and their elder sister Bhiwanshi Sachdeva (11), Aradya Lumba (10) and Parv Sachdeva (12). Another 10 -year -old girl student, Sehjal Bansal, succumbed to a Patiala Hospital. The deceased SUV driver was Balvinder Singh from Fatehpur village.Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Mourned the tragedy. Expressing deep grief and sorrow, he shared his heartfelt sympathy with the members of the bereaved families. He said that the injured children were undergoing treatment in various hospitals in Patiala. CM Mann said that he was in touch with the district administration and instructed him to ensure the best medical facilities for all the injured.
