Two Indian children missing as a migrant boat leave 3 dead in California

A small boat is believed to have taken migrants to take migrants from the coast of San Diego on Monday morning, killing three people, four injured, and seven went missing. India’s Consulate in San Francisco has expressed its grief over the tragedy and is providing assistance to the family in coordination with local authorities.
The incident occurred about 35 miles north of the Mexico border near Tori Pines State Beach immediately after sunrise. According to the US Coast Guard Cotty Officer Chris Saipi, the boat, an open fishing ship that is commonly used by smugglers, slip into the sea. Officials believe that passengers were migrants, given that such ships are often used to patrol land boundaries. The migrants often tried to avoid detection on smugglers to navigate dangerous seas.
The injured were taken to La Jola’s Scripps Memorial Hospital, where they are being treated for respiratory issues. Among the injured are his 30s and a teenager has three adults. The hospital did not give much information about their conditions. The winds in the area were light, in which the waves reached about six feet, causing the circumstances to become dangerous but did not have peak.
Torrey Pines State Beach’s hikers told the boat at around 6.30 pm (local time). A doctor nearby reached the spot, offered assistance and demonstrated CPR on the victims. The discovery for the remaining missing persons continues, while the authorities investigate the cause of the tragedy.
The incident is another in a series of malignant marine trafficking cases with the US West Coast. In 2023, eight people died when a migrant smuggling boat was capitalized near San Diego, which was one of the most deadly events in recent history. Last year, the United Nations reported a high number of deadly people among migrants trying to cross borders among migrants, with about 9,000 people losing their lives worldwide.
