New Delhi: India and Royal Challengers Bangalore Star batter Virat Kohli has finally opened his decision to retire from T20 International after India’s victorious T20 World Cup campaign in 2024.
Kohli called Time on his T20i career after India led by Rohit Sharma, winning the T20 World Cup title with a seven -run win over South Africa in the final held in Barbados.

He said, “I don’t think things have changed for me in any way. The decision to leave the T20I was purely understood that there is a new set of players who are more than ready and they need time,” he said.
“They need a two -year cycle to develop, handle pressure, play in different parts of the world, and play enough games at the point where the World Cup comes, they think they are ready.”

Kohli completed his T20i career with 125 matches, scoring 4,188 runs at an impressive average of 48.69. He was named the player of the tournament in both 2014 and 2016 editions of the T20 World Cup.
