Hefzat leaders also condemned the proposals in a direct struggle with the Quran and Sunnah. They blame religious and social norms for gender discrimination, which is a clear untouchability of Islamic law.” Referring to Younus, Haq said, “We have shown him respect, but if he insists on advancing this agenda, we will be forced to treat him apart from Sheikh Hasina.”
