7 dead, 4 critical speeding van Mars Down Group on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway | Chandigarh News
Noah: Seven hygiene workers, including six women, were killed on the spot and four others were seriously injured after a fast multi-use van on the Delhi Mumbai Expressway on Saturday morning after a fast multi-use van.
The accident occurred near Pillar No 76 in Ibrahimwas village of Ferozepur Jhirka block in Nuh district at 10 am. The group stopped cleaning the road when the van hit him at a high speed.
The deceased has been identified as Resham (60), wife of Gulab Singh; Prem (60), wife of Ramsingh; Ratna (40), Ramesh’s wife; Pista (30), Mahendra’s wife; Jayadai (40), Deshraj’s wife; Satyavati (30), Raju’s wife; and as Mohammed (45), Asen’s son. Six of the victims were from the village of Kheriklan in Pinangwa region, while Mohammad Nuh was a resident of Jhimravat village in Nuh district.
Among the injured, four women were identified, three of which are in critical condition. He was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi for advanced treatment.
Ansar Khan, a social activist of Ibrahimwas village, who later saw, said that he listened to crying from nearby fields and reached the spot, where he found that the dead bodies were scattered on one side of the expressway.
He described the scene as terrible. Emergency services were called, and the ambulance rushed the injured to the hospital.
The accident created a large traffic jam on the expressway for some time.
Deputy commissioner Vishwam Meena And Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar visited the spot and expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
The police have registered a case based on the statements of eyewitnesses and the injured. The bodies have been sent to NUH District Hospital for postmortem. Officials have also started collecting CCTV footage from cameras installed near the accident site as part of the investigation.
