After the allegation Sonia Gandhi, the speaker’s response received that the bill was through “bulldozer” in the Lok Sabha.
Sonia addressed the party MPs at the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) General Body Meeting, saying, “This bill is a Brezan attack on the constitution. It is part of the BJP’s intentional strategy to keep our society in a state of permanent polarization.”
Sonia Gandhi accused the government of “systematically reducing democratic values” and “trying to make India a monitoring state”.
The WAQF Amendment Bill, which had a lot of debate between the government and the opposition, was eventually passed by both houses of Parliament after extended sessions.
