5.6-Craman Earthquake Southern Philippines

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said on Wednesday, 5.6 earthquakes in the southern Philippines killed the southern Philippines, which has no immediate report in the number of losses or casualties.
The USGS said that there was a depth of 30 km (18.6 mi) from the coast of Mindanao island.
The Philippine Institute of Volcano and Seismology placed the sub -center about 43 kilometers in the south -west of the city, located in a hill and quite populated area.
Local authorities reported initial signs of AFP that there was no significant damage from the earthquake.
Gilbert Rolifor, an officer of the fire department in the Maidam, said, “It was strong, but not long. We have investigated but it was negative (for the number of damage or casualties).”
Quake in the Philippines is a daily phenomenon, which sits with the Pacific “Ring of Fire”, an arc of acute seismic and volcanic activity that spreads from Japan from Southeast Asia and across the Pacific Basin.
Most are very weak to be felt by humans, but strong and destructive earthquakes occur randomly, with no techniques available which are available to predict when and where they will be.
