Dua Lipa, Sir Elton John, Paul McCartney and Florence Welch 400 are one of the UK musicians, writers and artists who have signed a petition, urging the Prime Minister to protect the copyright of the artists and “not to give work” to big technical companies.
What happened among AI Model vs.
According to The Guardian, the open letter is addressed to the Sir Kir Stmper, where the signators claim that their livelihood needs to be preserved. They want the government to amend the data (use and access) bill, which are transparent for developers and tech companies copyright owners, even if they need to train the AI model.The growth of artists occurs amid the government’s plan to train the AI model with the use of copyright-reserved work without permission from the right owners.
What does the letter state do?
The letter stated, “If we leave our work at the behest of a handful of powerful foreign technical companies and our future income, with the status of the UK and any hope as a creative powerhouse, and with any hope, we will lose a huge development opportunity, then the technology of daily life will give up the values of the United Kingdom and the laws,”
Government’s response
In response to the campaign, the government spokesperson said, “We want Creative Industry and AI To flourish companies, this is why we are consulting on the package of measures that we hope will work for both areas. We are clear that no change will be considered as long as we are not completely satisfied.
Nobody agrees with artists
Julia Wilmin, co-founder of the Center for British Progress Think Tank, said that such decisions and proposals would obstruct development, and if the restrictions are imposed, it will “cool the AI development, domestic innovation, and directly damage the UK economy.”
